About the event

The power of words often impacts the perception we have about the world around us. Inclusive language is a form of communication that can set the tone for engagement throughout an organization. This course will explore the use of language in the workplace and American society. One hour class meetings offered in four parts on the following dates: July 22-25, 2024.

Facilitator: Allyson Brown

Allyson Brown is a DEI practitioner and educator with a 16 year career in higher education. Her areas of expertise are diversity, equity, and inclusion, and collaborative work in reducing the gaps of access for students and professionals. Mrs. Brown holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from Francis Marion University (2005), a masters degree in Counselor Education – Student Affairs from Clemson University (2011), and a graduate diversity certificate from the University of North Georgia (2021). She is currently enrolled in the executive doctoral program for Higher Education at Boston College.
